Galvanising is the application of zinc onto a substrate. Here at GT Surface Restoration, we are able to galvanise anything from a steel wheel to a complete vehicle bodyshell on-site.
The galvanising process used by us prevents the need to drill holes in box section frames etc, as is normally required with the typical ‘hot dip’ galvanising. Due to the item not being submersed in a hot tank, we can prevents distortion, thus allowing thinner metal items to still have zinc protection.
Galvanising is an ideal solution if you wish to give additional protection to items being either powder coated or painted, as it will prolong the life of both coatings. The zinc we use has a purity level of 99.9%.
If the item being galvanised is to be powder coated, it can be taken away once the zinc has been applied. If the item is to be painted, we can be seal it in any standard RAL colour, after which you can either take it back and paint it yourself, or we can do that for you as well so you just have to refit it.
All galvanised/painted coatings can be measured to ensure they can be finished to the required thickness level, if being used for an offshore application and finished in standard RAL colours.
